What A Gapped Soffit Lets In
One dropped panel and the eave becomes habitat — birds and squirrels move into the overhang, wasps build in the cavity, and wind-driven rain reaches framing that was never meant to see water. Vinyl and aluminum panels drop when their channels loosen or fascia backing softens; wood soffit rots from gutter overflow above. We re-secure what’s sound, replace what isn’t, and close the habitat for good.

Half the soffits we repair were suffocating the attic before they broke — solid panels where vented belonged, or vents painted and insulation-blocked shut. Since repair opens the eave anyway, it’s the free moment to restore real intake: vented panels sized to the attic’s needs, baffles holding insulation back, feeding the ventilation loop that decides ice dams and shingle life above.
