InsuranceRe-Inspections
Same Roof, New Outcome
A re-inspection with the same file gets the same answer. A re-inspection with new evidence and your contractor on the roof beside the adjuster — that’s where decisions change.
Insurance Re Inspection done properly comes down to components most quotes never mention: line-item pricing, material match testing and the photo record. We inspect each before pricing, photograph what we find, and put the scope in writing so you see exactly what you're paying for. Licensed and insured across Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.

What is a claim reinspection?
A reinspection is a second field inspection, often with the contractor and adjuster on site together, to review damage the initial inspection did not document. It resolves disagreements about scope more efficiently than correspondence, because both parties evaluate the same slopes and elevations at the same time. Two Sets Of Eyes, One Roof, No Hand-Waving
First inspections fail for mundane reasons: a rushed schedule after a storm, a ground-level look, an adjuster who doesn’t climb steep slopes. The re-inspection fixes the conditions, not just the conclusion — we submit our photo documentation and test squares beforehand so the adjuster arrives knowing what to verify, then our estimator walks every marked point with them on the roof. It’s hard to wave off a crease you’re standing over while the person who chalked it explains the wind mechanics.
How To Request It Right
You’re entitled to ask; carriers routinely grant re-inspections when new evidence exists — that phrase matters. The request cites what the first inspection missed, attaches the new documentation, and asks for a date your contractor can attend. We draft it, attach our file, and show up. No new evidence and no representation is how re-inspections rubber-stamp the first answer.

Claim Documentation From The Field

Asked Across A Thousand Claims
Can the carrier refuse a re-inspection?+
They can drag feet, but documented new-evidence requests are hard to refuse — and a refusal itself becomes useful in an appeal or regulator complaint.
Will the same adjuster come back?+
Sometimes; often a senior or independent adjuster takes re-inspections. Either way, the pre-filed evidence and on-roof walk change the dynamic.
What if the re-inspection still says no?+
Then the file is primed for the next rungs: formal appeal, appraisal clause, or an Ohio DOI complaint — each stronger because the re-inspection record exists.
Does this cost me anything?+
No — documentation, the request, and attendance are part of how we earn the restoration work when the claim approves.
Can I be present when the insurance adjuster inspects?+
You can and your contractor should be — chalked damage walked together on the roof is where most reversals actually happen.
What if the adjuster missed damage the first time?+
Request a re-inspection citing new evidence, with documentation attached and representation scheduled — the phrase ’new evidence’ is what makes refusal hard.
Can I get a different adjuster for the re-inspection?+
You can request one — and re-inspections often draw senior or independent adjusters by default, which usually serves the file well.
Should I repair anything before the re-inspection?+
Mitigate hazards, preserve evidence — the damage under dispute must remain documentable. Tarps yes, replacements not yet.
